In-Home Lifestyle Family + Newborn Session Warrnambool

I love in-home photo sessions for so many reasons! A couple of them being that families are in their happy place creating some beautiful images in a space that means so much to them and we don’t have to worry about the weather, especially with these cooler months coming up!

For this particular session (which was back in August last year – how time flies!!), I headed over to Kate and Jade’s house to update their family photos now that they’re a family of 4, with Theo arriving 8 weeks earlier; a little brother for Harry.

I was greeted at the door by their very cute Golden Retriever, Frankie, who happily led me inside and into the lounge to the rest of the family, where Harry was proudly helping Jade give Theo his dummy and showing me all of his favourite toys – how amazingly blue are his eyes!!

When we first started the session, Harry was a little shy of the camera but with some cuddles and tickles from Mum, he soon forgot it was there and I got the sweetest photos.

That’s the best thing about lifestyle sessions, families can completely be themselves while I capture those special moments and while I do get photos of everyone looking at the camera, it’s the love and connection between families that I love to capture.

My absolute favourite images to take of newborns are detailed images; documenting just how tiny they are, from their teeny little toes to their sweet little fingers. Being able to compare the size difference between them and their older siblings is always fun too, sometimes you don’t realise just how big they’ve gotten until you see them next to a newborn!!

During the session, Frankie followed us around and was so happy to be included in a lot of the photos, to say she is a proud big sister is an understatement.
